Transitional housing complex reopens after tornado

JOPLIN, MO. – For the first time in six months, residents of Ozark Center Cedar Hill Apartments are coming home. Damage to the 15-apartment complex sustained during the May 22 tornado was so extensive that the apartments were uninhabitable. Joplin Superintendent CJ Huff named in People Magazine

JOPLIN, MO. - People Magazine has named the superintendent of the Joplin School District one of its 2011 heroes. The Joplin Globe reports that superintendent C.J. Huff appears in the 2011 Heroes Among Us Awards in the Nov. 7 issue. He was chosen as one of six winners. Huff won the award for his efforts in reopening schools damaged by the May 22 tornado.
